Piracy

So I wanted to make a topic about Piracy, What do you think about it? Have you ever downloaded something illegal? Feel free to discuss and even conflict a little bit. Remember, don't post any links to download anything. ( sorry if back seat modding I don't want anyone in trouble in advance.

i download game torrents so um yea

eh idk even though it's illegal i don't see anything super wrong with it. i don't do it too often but i have to sometimes because sorry i'm not paying 50 dollars for a drawing program or anything like that

I've never done it, or at least I think so. I've tried to download fantage hacks and things but gave up because:

1. surveys
2. doesn't work
3. viruses

I guess I would think from that experience that piracy is dangerous because it probably doesnt work half the freaking time and could possiby make your computer explode.

a lot of things r illegal that ppl do anyway idk as long as u dont get caught i dont see the problem i mean like,,,,on this computer alone i have literally downloaded over 500 torrents in less than 2 years so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,y ea h

Well i have mixed feelings but what can you do? millions of people are doing it secretly without telling anybody as we speak! (well post lol xD) When i was a newbie on fantage i despratley wanted membership but i didn't want to get banned.So i thought first before downloading anything that could cause trouble like membership hacks.So i just left it and kept on beinf an non,So really if millions and gazillions (don't know if thats a word.) Are downloading it's gonna be lonely on earth if you arrest all the people who are downloading illegal things.

piracy is a criminal offense, however, it's not like the cops are hunting down every single user who illegally downloads something. I've personally never done it, but, either way, there's always going to be tons of webpages and downloaders so theres not much that can be done about it.

Uh. I've downloaded some movies/programs from Anime-Sharing and Kickass. Not recently though.

B. Half the population does this, like somebody else said, the world would be a pretty lonely place if everybody was arrested for doing this.

lol yeah i illegally downloaded stuff before. i dont really find anything wrong with it like yeah its illegal but i doubt the police will be chasing after every single one of us likes faults said

Being the dashing criminal I am, I have downloaded things illegally on more than one occasion. I don't really see an issue with it, other than the fact that I'm cheating the creators out of money they worked hard for. But hey, I was never one to feel guilt...

I almost always download stuff from torrents, and the whole thing about "piracy" is rather about American law called Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). Despite criminalizing copyright infringement per se, it also criminalizes any action that do any harm to copy protection systems, online authentication systems, tivo-izers (all that is called DRM aka Digital Rights Management). These systems are designed in order for companies to gain not just money, but also trust, which can encourage brand loyalty and lead to monopolism.
So, beware!!!

when i was ten & didn't kno tht downloading songs for free wuz illegal, i downloaded $100 worth of music.. whoops...

cheating hard-working artists out of their money.. ahhh..

i still do to this day... :3 whoops

I suspect that in future you wouldn't even be able to give the CD's to your friends as a gift because it would be illegal...
