The topic is Child Beauty Pageants Should we have them or not? Should the mom be pushing the kids to do there best?

I'm going to leave it to you guys to start the debate.

I would say child beauty pageants are bad, mostly because they instill in these children that being pretty is the only thing that matters.

If the children take interest in pageants and actually enjoy being in them, then that's great! However, mothers shouldn't be pushing their children to do something they don't want to do just because they wanted to do it as a child. If the kid doesn't wanna walk around a stage in some skimpy costume and fake eyelashes, don't force them to.

I think irksome only if the child wants to participate in the pageant. Though I think there should be a 10+ limit cuz 10+ kids don't usually get Whiny.

I really have no strong opinion on the subject, but as long as the child is positive about the experience I don't see a problem with it.
