Chapter One
Everyone knew me as Bridgit, the annoying loser. My hair was never greasy and I was beautiful, as all the boys said, but no girls would let the guys anywhere near me. So I steered clear.
My best friend had dumped me for the popular crowd a few months ago, and she always treated me like total crap. But what could I do...I was the gorgeous loser. Is that an oxymoron? Yeah, I think it is.
It was a cold rainy day when I grabbed my Motorola Razr out of my pocket and texted some girl from school. I went to a nearby park and sat on a swing.
Hey. Did we hav English?? My text was short and sweet. I knew I'd get a horrible reply.
Yea...did u do it? That was shocking. Usually everyone swore at me...
The girl's name was Lyli. Lyli was a kind girl, though she was popular, too. I figured she wasn't with her friends right then.
I heard footsteps in the grass. It was Lyli.
Her long straight brown hair was all matted and blood trickled from her forehead. Her hoodie was bloodstained and it looked like it had been dyed red, and her shoes were sopping with blood. Her jeans looked like they had been dyed, too. I knew that she had probably sneaked the back way to the park, because when you went that way it was like you disappeared off the face of the Earth.
"Oh my God, LYLI!" I whispered. I hugged her, not caring that she was covered in blood. "Who's blood is that?"
Lyli cried and cried into my shoulder. I knew they'd probably pulled that pig's blood trick from Carrie. They always met at this old warehouse and I guess they decided she was "out."
"Bridget-" She started to say but she kept crying. I realized her hoodie's hood had probably been over her head when the blood came down.
I started crying with Lyli. I knew that these girls were the worst girls on Earth.
Were they proud of it? Yes.
Was anyone else proud of it.
No.
