Fairest by Gail Carson Levine is a good book. It may seem boring at first but it gets really good. :3

Dude, A Series of Unfortunate Events was the best thing I've ever read. That may be due to the fact that I read it when I was 10, but I remember it as being incredible.

The Chronicles of Narnia are also good.

Books my sister likes:
- Hunger Games
- The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
- The Kite Runner
- A Thousand Splendid Suns

Books I like:
- The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest
- Toliver's Secret
- Shiloh

I have two other books and I am currently trying to remember the titles asdfghjkl;'

EDIT: I just read Spy-der's post and saw "A Series of Unfortunate Events". I didn't read the book, but I saw the movie and it was awesome.

EDITx2: Remembered the book name thanks to deviantArt.

The books I like are mostly fantasy novels, ahaha. You may like them though, if you like the Percy Jackson series.

- The Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion (these may count as young adult as they are a little intense, but they are the most beautiful stories I have ever read)
- The Chronicles of Narnia
- Alice in Wonderland
- The Pern series
- Anatopsis (My friend who loves the Percy Jackson series loves this)
- The Mysterious Benedict Society
-The Penderwicks

This is the very short list of books I enjoyed at around your age (10-12).

@Fuko I have that book. I used to read way too many Gail Carson Levine books.

~Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine - It's a really good book. The movie is awful.
~The Hunger Games - Already mentioned, but it's epic.
~Anything by Jerry Spinelli is great, too. I remember reading those books when I was your age.
~The Main Street series by Ann M. Martin - OHMYGOSH I remember being obsessed with these books when I was your age. :3
~Amazing Days of Abby Hayes - Once again, a series that I got obsessed with in 3rd - 5th grade. They're really good.

The only thing bad about the series is the sad feeling you get after you finish it. I was depressed for like a week because I wished the series continued, especially because it could've easily been done with all possibilities that the end left, but sadly nothing can go on forever (obviously).

I'm not one to obsess over books, movies, shows, or anything for that matter but if Lemony Snicket started writing a new series or continuing A Series of Unfortunate Events, I would lose it.

um
yes, Maniac Magee is good..

Maniac Magee; Why not Fablehaven? It's an amazing series. ; Inkheart series; The Hunger Games series; The Tapestry Series (i'm currently on the third book right now); 100 Cupboards series is VERY intriguing; Eragon Series; The Mysterious Benedict Society series; Charlie Bone series is pretty good;

OMG I CAN'T THINK RIGHT NOW
UGH. but as you can see, i'm in love with fantasy. c:

I would say exactly what Spyder said, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are the best options. They're pretty much perfect for your age.

They are good books. Another one is called "Matched", about how a society chooses where you die, who you love, your job.
