That's what most of the guards were screaming before the explosion. But they weren't fast enough to catch me.
Ahh, let me explain. My name is Emily Hall, and this is my story.
It started off so innocently, so accidentally... Before I felt the rush and realized how much I liked it: living a life on the run. Hey, it ran in my blood anyways, and I was 6! All I did was steal some candy from the store, not really a big deal you know! At least I didn't kill anybody.
So where was I? Oh yeah. I was really hungry. My ma hadn't fed me in days, 'cuz she was too mad at me. And my pa couldn't feed me; he was in jail. So, I went down to the candy store and kind of took a little candy. After I walked out the door, some guy came out screaming at me to give it back or pay up. So, I ran away and took the dang candy with me, thinking, what's he gonna do? Put me in jail? Boy oh boy, as my grandma would say, I hit the head right on the nail with that one! Or maybe it's the other way around. Oh well.
Suddenly, he came after me in a car. At first I thought he was gonna run me over, so I kept runnin' and yellin' and cryin' for him to stop. He got out of the car, and said, "I'm gonna tell your mama and pop if you dont pay me right now or give me that candy, young lady." I backed away, then threw the candy at him not knowing what else to do. Before he could say or do anything else, I ran away again.
I knew that dumb ol' man was known for being a big jerk, so he'd probably tell me parents anyways even though I gave him the candy back. If I came home, my ma would flip out! I couldn't go back. I just couldn't... so I didn't. From that day on, I've been livin' in the woods and stealin' food to keep myself alive.
Fast-forward 6 years, and I end up in jail. Got caught stealin' a bag of Dorito's. Darn those tasty chips! I've only been in jail for a few months, and everyone here hates me. Don't bother askin' why, 'cuz I have no idea.
Well, nothin' all that interesting happens in jail, so I'm gonna fast-forward some more.
Fast-forward to the explosion.
A couple of inmates have been planning to plant a bomb here in the jail. I didn't really believe they would until I heard them say, "It's done. Only 5 more minutes till this place is dust." For a second, I still didn't believe it. But why would they lie about somethin' like this? So I did what anyone would do: try to escape! It wasn't even that hard, I just followed those guys to some room I didn't even know about. We were all getting ready to leave when some guards came in. I jumped out the window as fast as I could, but they came after me! Man, I thought I was going to pass out 'cuz I ran so far. Luckily, I managed to get away from them.
And that's how I ended up here... somewhere I don't even know where I am.
