I have been so obsessed with this show!
Ahhhhhh Benedict Cumberbatch

It's all on Netflix, but you may be disappointed by the small amount of episodes!
Only 6 in total!! But though they lack in quantity, they make up for it with quality.

Amazing show!! Amazing! The last episode ends with a cliffhanger so all the Sherlockians have been waiting patiently until the fall when the 3rd season cones out.

I love Sherlock! I'm a huge fan of Doyle's Sherlock Holmes books so I actually started watching the show when it first aired. ^3^ I'm super excited for the next season, even if I already know what's going to happen (if it sticks to canon, that is).
But seriously, it's an awesome show and Martin Freeman is the cutest thing ever. ;~;

It's a TV show based on the Sherlock Holmes books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but it takes place in modern times instead of taking place in the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It's a really great show and I'd definitely recommend it to you, especially if you're a fan of the SH books. c:

No magics... But Sherlock is amazing c: He can look at someone, and on the screen it will show text saying like (around the other persons mouth) "They had toast today" or something. Because he is amazing at noticing everything. Also it's really funny, because him and Dr. Watson -two heterosexual males- share a house together. So there is some comedy around that. And Sherlock has a humongous fandom! Which is super awesome c:

I want to watch it with my mom... but she keeps brushing the idea away >-<

Haha I watches a bit and it was great! Also, Sherlock is basically about a detective, so yeah.

I've been wanting to watch some new shows for a while now, I'll definitely try Sherlock besides Doctor Who.

sort of, i suppose. i haven't seen the show, but i'm sure it's just taking the storylines from the books and modernizing them. if you haven't read the books (they're actually a pretty easy read!), sherlock holmes is about this genius detective who can basically tell people's life stories and invent genius ways to solve mysteries and crimes along with his assisstant, john watson. the only one who can outsmart him is "the woman", irene adler (as i'm sure you would know from the movies).

i'd love to check it out on netflix!

It's pretty much just a modern adaptation of the original Sherlock Holmes books. It's a lot better than the movies IMHO, and it sticks a lot closer to the canon in certain ways.
