| (I am honestly not sure where to put this. If it is in the wrong place I would be happy for the topic to be moved:) - drawing:
So I was sketching in study hall today. I erased most of the sketch lines and put detail into this. There is one thing I keep messing up on, though...It is the eyes. I draw one eye perfectly, but when I draw the next eye, it is always messed up. The second eye is always to small, big, curved, etc. I was wondering if anyone her can give me some tips on how to draw a good pair of eyes? Also I am thinking of putting up a new art gallery. I have made lots of new drawings but I am always too lazy to do it. I am thinking of adding this to the gallery when it is done, also.

| ah, eyes. don't worry, just about every artist in the world has trouble with eyes at some point.
my best advice is to pay attention to certain ways you draw the details in the eye. like how hard you press your pencil in the corners, the motion you make when you draw the lashes, the way you curve your pupils, etc.. develop a routine for drawing the major parts of the eye that stand out, like the top lines and pupils. then, if you mess up on the smaller things, like the size of the shines, it won't look that bad! and honestly, it's super hard to get both eyes perfect unless you use copy and past (which i'm guilty of). if you can at least make them look relatively similar, that's great!

| try with sketch lines along the top and bottom lines on the eyes and sketch it out briefly according to size etc, it will be much more helpful but i think that hop pretty much covered it up (; have fun! | |

| What I usually do is draw a part of one eye, then draw that same part for the other eye? - Like this:
It may not come out completely even, but it's still pretty easy to go back, erase, and fix. uvu

| 1). Before you even start drawing "anime" eyes, make sure you actually know how to draw them realistically. Study the eye, every little detail of it. Of course, you don't need to know all the names of the inner eyeball, just the basic shapes and sizes of the area. The main parts to the eye are the: - eyeball, which lays in the eye socket - eyelid, which wraps around the eyeball. Remember that Asian eyelids wrap around the eyeball differently. - eyelashes - iris 2). Know the basic shapes. The eyeball is simply a circle/sphere, plus the iris, which is like a tiny lump in the eyeball. Once you have the entire eyeball done, draw the eyelid. Then the eyelashes, tear sacs, etc. I don't want to go too in depth with anatomy as you may get confused so I'm going to give you a small, simple tutorial after this long rant. - A quick run-through on the drawing process of the human eye. It's a bit blurry since it's resized and i drew it on an iPad.:
3). Know facial proportions, too! The gap between two eyes on the human face is roughly the size of one eye, and the gap between the edge of the eye and the side of the head is roughly 1/2 an eye. Just a side note: eyes aren't 100% symmetrical. I<3alex69's tip was also reasonable. Go step by step with everything you draw. Of course, with digital art, you can kind of cheat with the symmetry tool depending on the program you're using. TL;DR: Good, since I reeeeally overcomplicated eyes here. Just go to the tutorial. This only took me a few minutes to type up, anyway. The tutorial: http://pencilkings.s3.amazonaws.com/promo/FreeFaceCourse/01_How_to_Draw_Eyes.pdf |

No problem! I got the tutorial from Pencil Kings. It's a site that gives away free guidance to artists in video and PDF. Here's the nose one: http://pencilkings.s3.amazonaws.com/promo/FreeFaceCourse/04_How_to_Draw_Noses.pdf |
