So, everyone knows about the supposed end of the world on May 21st, right? Well, everyone's entitled to their opinions, so here's mine.

Happen.

Why?
1. The world will end when it darn right pleases, and no one should put Mother Nature on a schedule!
2. Uhhh, helloooo? Who cares? If the world end, it ends. We will all die, and do whatever it is we do after we die.
3. *facepalm* The same guy who predicted the 2000 predicted this. WHY are they listening to him?
4. -_- This should be the most obvious... It says in the Bible that no one knows when Jesus will come back. GUESS WHAT THEY'RE BELIEVING?
5. How are you guys coming up with these dates anyway? By now I think they're pulling numbers out of a hat...

I quite agree with tahtahtah's article.
I mean, who would want to end the world in the first place? We're all cool with what we do and lots of kids are planting trees, lots of people saving water and now, lots of developed vehicles to reduce pollution.
Then why do we worry?
Exactly. There was a prediction on 2000 for the world to end or some rubbish but it just didn't happen. If people think the world ends in war, they have to put it out of their heads because we are all united, we are one. The UN ( United nations) are helping us in the peace article. If we really believe, then we can stop fighting and stand together.
Don't worry about the earthquake that hit Japan or Haiti because they are absolutely natural. Every single year do we face these types of natural disasters so there's nothing extraordinary about it!
And even if something strong shakes us, then we must be brave like the japanese, accept it, and fight back!

yup. I COMPLETELY agree with mayanm. And you should see that Japanese ad of Cyril Takayama on tv. And some gizmos went and started creating rumor saying " OH! the world is going to end!" well,sometimes scientists can go wrong.

Well the world will not exactly end if anything we all become part of a upcoming nuclear holocaust.There is no other way besides increased seismic activity and other natural disasters
other then that we would be fine all that would happen is a great change of our daily lives nothing more then that pretty much.

it's not going to end may 21. the only way the earth itself with actually end is when the sun burns out and we lose all sources of heat and freeze to death, or when our nearby galaxy andromeda swallows us. and both of those things are inevitably going to happen, so...also, nuclear holocaust, and other stuff. but if NONE of that happened those 2 are ultimately going to be our demise.

No, I don't agree on the world ending at all.
The world will end when the sun explodes in about 4 or 5 BILLION years.
May 21st, 2011, OR 2012 is completely fake.

Well, in my opinion it's just stupid to put religion up there. But other than that science shows that the world MAY 'end' soon(End is in quotation marks because I'm referring to the human race dying out). You know, global warming speeding up too quickly, ice burgs melting, thermohaline circulation messing up the water currents, flooding of the world, having to move to mountainous regions(now) but by then they'll be the 'flat land'. This very well could happen in the next century.
2012 is not completely fake, we don't know if it might end; of course it probably won't be from the reasons the idiots going around the country in 'THE WORLD WILL END MAY 21ST' vans are saying. Oh and when the Sun 'explodes' it is not for certain that the Earth will die out also, by then other stars could form near us, we could make our own, etc.

People have literally been 'predicting the end' for thousands of years and it mainly has to do with religion.

People think that if we're evil, give an eye for an eye, that the world will pretty much end up in volcanoes and earthquakes and tsunamis all over. Mainly because people can't get it into their heads that these are naturally occurring events, and if they happen in order (1. Earthquake in Haiti 2. Earthquake in Chile 3. Disaster and all that happened in Japan) IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!

The only reason that people come up with all of these theories is because they can't come up with anything better to study. If these people put this much effort into ACTUAL RESEARCH then the US wouldn't be where it is financially. Am I the only one who's noticed that everyone is saying 'WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE' and crap but nobody's come up with any way to prepare? And if this stuff was going to happen then people would be running around doing whatever they want.

The prediction is May 21 now? I thought it was December 21.....well regardless, I agree with you. We really don't know when the world will end. And even if it will soon end, so be it.

i agree with mayanm. I wish people would not start this crazy rumor of," THE WORLD'S ENDING! AAAAH! " those people are crazy. I mean, even if it did happen, we should have enjoyed our time before the end came. It's not that i'm saying it will happen. I'm hundred percent that it will NOT happen.

Well, for those who believe that the world might end (not trying to offend anyone) its just a theory and theories CAN be wrong. Besides that's exactly what they said back in 2000 and people actually believe so. I mean people would take soo many different kinds of jobs and literally go up to mountains to live there since they thought the world would flood. And obviously they were proved wrong.

And don't really pay attention to these kinds of things I mean its just people who are giving out rumors and people fall for it. Not everything that goes through media is absolutely true Besides the world won't end in another 5 billion years (which is until the sun burns out) or unless (according to the Bible) He will come down and judge the living and the dead.

I voted kinda sorta maybe. Because i dont know a perticular TIME the world is ending, or day. But i do think that because of global warming and everything mankind is doing, there could be alot of NATURAL Disasters. And we wont have civilalization, and we have to like, live on whats left. Im not sure if it will happen in 2012.... it will definetly happen though when the sun explodes, (Because remember, every star explodes at one point, and the sun is a star) so in like 4 billion years like fantage rules said. (Above me) So yeah, If global warming keeps it up, The world will end soon, at least civilization will.
