Okay I've seen much worse on the forum sooo I don't think I'd get in trouble for posting this.. if I do I'm sorry and I'll accept my punishment.... of course I needa bring my warning bar back again anyway (it's been a month now).

So I've had a crush on a guy since 7th grade. He was just perfect he played alto saxophone he was smart he wasn't weak and dweeby, he was athletic and a bit handsome lol. I would have never thought that he would turn out to be gay. Only last week did he come out. I never would have guessed he doesn't look like it at all and and and he has dated girls plenty of times :s. What makes it worse was only a week before my dad said that he might like me back I was completely overjoyed with the thought and I was definitely going to ask him out when I became 16. So at the moment I am real crestfallen and less optimistic than normally :l

Am I happy for him? Yes I'm completely supportive of his choice and I admire him for the courage to come out.
Am I a bit disappointed and completely sad? Yes because I never will get a chance to tell him and there's always going to be a "what if...?" in mind.

I was just hoping someone on the forum could give me some tips on moving on or kinda help me reinforce my thoughts of happiness for him.

You can talk about your crush with him. If you do this now, your crush will be kinda gone because atleast he knows, right. It's for the best. What do you think?

First, I respect him for coming out. that takes a lot of courage, bravery, and self-esteem.

Second, Relora. There's a lot of people on the land (LOL) so don't worry about it. You're like super cool and stuff. Not to mention intelligent-your vocabulary surprises me. I have to look up some words that you post. So I thank you for increasing my word count ;D but I'm pretty sure a guy is gonna like and/or LOVE you way more than you liked that dude. so just give it some time. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, BBYDOLL<3

As others said, move on. There's plenty of fish in the sea, and maybe you'll be able to find a new one. I agree with Pokie's advice; Tell him that you've had a crush on him. It'll fade away sooner or later. c:

Something similar happened to my one friend lol.
But here is something you HAVE to do in order to get over him.
You have to confess.
Why? Because if you don't confess that feeling of "I never got to confess, he will never know my true feelings" will still linger on for a very veryyy long time.. How do I know? Experience. I liked this guy for about 4 years never told him because he became like a family friend, all because I never confessed and that feeling kept lingering.

Second step is moving on, after you've confessed it's much easier to move on. Keeping yourself busy and happy is the best way. You can still be friends with him and not make it awkward by what Lucifer said. Talk to him about your new crushes when you get them.

Just NEVER use someone as a new crush to get over an old one. (:
