Roleplays

I've had them before. Sometimes, they have been really popular. Other times, no one has posted them at all.

Should we add a roleplay section?

YES. Absolutely.
I don't really like posting games like "Rate the person above you", but roleplaying has been my thing since a young age. I first played my favourite RPG, Dungeons & Dragons, when I was 7. Later, I was allowed the internet, which expanded my horizons with online RPs and MMOs. Roleplaying is one of my favourite pastimes, and I would love to be able to do that here.

Me too, Kat. Posting games are annoying and spam up the forum with 10 versions of the same game. But roleplays are cool and fun.

I agree. And some noobs always say "I saw this on another forum. I think we should play this" and we already have 30 other games like that

Yes you should add one.
Sure we already have a games section, but it gets really clogged up. And basically it's boring posting in the same games over and over again.

May I mention the posting games are nothing like roleplays, so those are mistakenly thinking they are in any way are wrong.

I'd say no. The reason why we didn't have a roleplay section was because it spammed the recent topics. I know everyone will go against me for that, but honestly, all you'll be seeing are roleplay topics trending and nothing else.

Now that is quite true...everyone will be in a rush to post a roleplay of their own.

I do very much agree with you that the roleplay section would get clogged. However, I imagine it would get clogged when it is first released, because then everyone will make a huge deal about it. There might also be some new users that post a lot in the roleplay section too, because from what I've seen, new users generally have a lot of enthusiasm on here. Anyways, my point is that by the time the roleplay section is no longer new, it should be no longer clogged up. Hopefully, (though I doubt it) when the section first releases, the people on here will be subtle and not clog it too much.

I do enjoy role-playing but in a way I do agree with poke.

Well when we first tried it out and we all could make a roleplay it was BARELY posted in.

This is a very good point. I mean, this was the reason I didn't have posting games at first.

I think that we could replace chatbox mods with roleplay mods, who have the power to moderate the roleplay section. We could then have a few "official" roleplays, then we wouldn't have a bunch of them to clog up latest topics. Just an idea.

I was thinking of just creating a forum kind of connected to this for roleplays. Yet, having official roleplays aren't that bad, either. I'd just get lost with roleplays here, haha. So many people posting the same time.

@Xaria; Really? When was that? When we had an RP section last time, I check top 20 posters today and about eveeyone there had more than 200 for just one day. The number of users have grown since then...

I made an RP forum awhile ago that was kinda connected to this, didn't really work out. It's best to just keep it on one forum.

If we do have a roleplay section, I have a suggestion.

In most online roleplays that I have seen, there is a problem where nearly all the players are either wrestling for control of the plot, or are passively doing their own thing unconnected to the rest of the group. It is also very difficult for new players to join beyond the first few days, because the plot has already been decided by a few active people, and there are no more roles.

I think that this happens because of the absence of a final arbitrator or game master, who would introduce plot elements without resistance, decide the result of actions that the players take, play non-player characters, and integrate new players. This seems like something that the roleplay moderators would be able to do. I really think that this would prevent a good deal of fights and stagnated roleplays.
