Attention, the forum idiots (spammers) are back. Due to the fact they don't seem to spam in the your day section I felt it be better to post it here.

As you all know a few people have unsuccessfully been trying to spam the forum. It's not a big deal at all but knowing that we have younger kids here and the images being spammed would be inappropriate to younger formers and would get them in trouble if a parental guardian viewed it.

To avoid this I thought it be best to something's to do so one can avoid this sloppy and petty spam.

1. Report the user and their posts.
2. Ignore th user. Just look over everything that the person has posted don't reply to it just ignore it.
3. Avoid posts by people you don't know.
4. If you come to a topic where it takes for ever to scroll down on there is a large chance that some one has spammed.
5. Don't quote the spam it doesn't help xD
6. Add them to your foes lost (accessible from the users profile), you won't be able to see anymore of their posts and you can go on ^^

Now I know I have no authority on the forum and that I have a chance of getting in trouble but it only seems fair to give you a warning. Remember that the spammers are rather bad and I'd say dumb (lol) so in no way should we blow this out of proportion ( which I tried my best not to do).

I only posted this because it sounds like this week we will be without moderation for the most part. Just do what I listed and we'll all be fine.

I apologize for any rule infringement. This is not an official thing supported by the leadership of the forum and I posted this for educational purposes only.

Note: I am on my mom's iPhone and apologize in advance for any mistakes.

People can go on their profile and press "add as foe" as well. Then they don't need to see their posts, only by their chose.

Thanks for this though, either way it is best to ignore them. *sigh*

I've banned the spammers already, but I don't have the power to clean it up or anything since I'm only a half mod so.. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they may come back though.

We have enough of them/they just aren't extremely active.
We need more admins though. Plus we already had a discussion on who should be "Fantageforum's Next Top Mod". (lol. <.<)

We don't neeed anymore moderators because we believe we have enough already. The current moderators aren't as active as they were though.

S said she was leaving. And I think I'm wrong about this, but maybe that's why the spammer came back. I'm not trying to blame S in any way, but if this is true it Could be some one who joined or watches this forum closely. And I'm not pointing any fingers. This is just my guess of what happened.

That's what I believe too, since S left, the spammers came back, because S always takes care of the spamming & such. Maybe it is someone on this forum.

i think it is annoying they post dirty pictures. i came on just now i clicked on a topic and i saw what the spammer did and i was like not again. goodness gracious! why cant they be stupid somewhere else and not here.

Yeah the spamming was pretty annoying.
But like what Abstract said, maybe check some IP's?

1. Spam is ANNOYIN'!!!
2. It's gross!

If people feel that strongly that they need to spam, at least don't post pictures of racism, swearing, and naked people! What could they possibly gain from spamming?

They're trying to gain attention. Since they obviously can't get enough of it wherever they are, they need to do something to grab someone elses' attention---yours. And since the mods are gone for the week this is a good oppurtinity for them to spam.

So everyone just needs to chill out, and block their names on your foes list. If you need help navigating the foes list don't be afraid to post here!

I totally agree with Cynthia! This is definitely a result of S's absence. This is someone on this forum. But I'm too tired to investigate tonight. Besides, I don't think I can even see IP's.

Regular users can't. Only mods and admins.

I have a friend who was willing to help but the process is complicated to find out the IP of the person.

Plus the spam is gone, for now at least. I can't trust the "guests" on this forum sometimes. >.> <.<

Also, they tend to bump topics. If you see an old thread myseriously making a reappearance on the latest topics, someone probably spammed.
