Am I turning into a prep? :/

Lately I've been finding my style as a bit of a prep, ballet flats, skirts, skinny jeans, the little "tube wave" look at the front of my hair. I'm 12 and I'm going into 7th grade, and my school is FULL of preps, so I was thinking that I was around it so much I had just gotten used to it. But then my friends started saying "You sound like a prep." Or "You look like a prep today." I enjoy gymnastics, and I know a lot of preps that do gymnastics. But personally I'd rather be a prep and be with the "nice preps" than be with the people who criticize me about being a prep, they've started talking to me because of the way I changed, but a lot of my friends are fine with it, I like the baggy ponytails and the fishtail braids, but a lot of people do. Do these things make me look/sound like a prep? Since doing these things I've stopped biting my nails, and painting them in bright pinks or cream colors, sometimes some crackle, or sometimes just a french manicure. Do I sound like a prep to you guys? I'm fine with a yes or no, so answer truthfuly.

Be who you wanna be. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you. Wear what you want, look how you want, act how you want, and if anyone has a problem then they aren't a real friend. Your friends shouldn't criticize you.

Not prep prep like .... i don't know how to explain but usually preps wear makeup LOTS of makeup!

And about your nails,you are doing nail-care which is good!

About your cloths, Many wear Ballet flats in my school because its comfortable,and preps wear High heels :/. Skirts is also cute but I hate my school skirt so i wear jeans.Preps wear short skirts and such and Skinny Jeans is okay because there are girls who loves to wear skinny jeans but they are not preps.

But if you are turning one of the preps,Being nice is better.

We can't wear high heels because if we do we're gonna break our necks running across the out-door campus, I live in a conservitive state, in the east, so most of the preps at my school wear skirts, skinnies, ballet flats, ect. preps wear lip gloss and that's it, I guess my school is different, considoring we're 4 years beind style. My school has nice preps, and mean preps, so I'd be a nice one.

Try being different and wear what suits your personality! Mine is the school blouse uniform and comfortable jeans with a sport shoes or converse with bracelets and a huge belt and small earrings.Being different makes you Unique!

At least, in your school they don't wear like 10 pounds of make-up.

I agree but I like the prep styles, I think it's cute, and a lot of guys at my school like the prep girls, I've had my eye on a boy and I think he likes me back, he's in a program called the "IB program" where really smart kids are in it, including the girl I don't like, she's probably fed him lies and stuff, but I still think he likes me, lol. I don't care what's your style, I only would care if you were a good friend. I don't like makeup I never wear it. And here schools are in the IB Program not induvidual students. I don't want to be. It's got all those stupid "attitudes". I am sorry if this sounds like a diff program.

Are you his friend? if not, try to talk to him! and be friends!And that girl is jealous...The hairstyle is nice also but try curling your hair at the tips and let your bangs cover your forehead sideways and add a headband! Its really cute! wear with it a small jean jacket with any cream color with a dark blue skinny jeans and white,black,silver ballet flats.These cloths i told you about could take most of the guys eyes but try cute in a preppy way not you know .... and when you wear that add mascara to let your eyes pop with eyeliner,lip gloss and light blush! Make it simple you are 12 like me(soon-to-be-12). Try clothes that bend with you skin and the manicure the same top color or something close to it.

And you could tell your Bff about this boy and she could encourage you!you could search in wikihow
