Easter Art & Comparison With Art From Some Time in 2011

Happy Easter! I have made a new drawing for Easter. I like it because I actually used real proportions on this (sort of). This is only a half-body drawing because I couldn't fit the full body on my paper. And the yellow thing on her shirt is an Easter egg. Abstract, Misty Life, and Link saw me coloring this on Tinychat.

And now you will see my improvement. To show improvement, I have put an unfinished drawing from May-June 2011 or so above my Easter drawing:

Ratings on a scale of 1-10, critique, or general commentary are all welcome! Just don't rate or critique on the old drawing. Trust me, I know exactly what I did wrong on that drawing from nearly a year ago.





Edit: I forgot to mention that the Easter drawing is free for use as long as you do not say you made it, copy it, trace it, change it, or anything along those lines. If you use it, only use it and please don't do anything else to my drawing. Thank you! c:

Thanks! It probably would have been better quality on Tinychat if my computer had a built-in webcam. I was using a separate webcam, which has always had resolution problems.

@MasterMapleLeaf, I've never played Maplestory, so if it does look like a Maplestory character, I didn't do that on purpose. c;

@Waffle C., Yes, I did.

@Misty Life, For the pencil sketch, I used a BIC Atlantis #2 HB mechanical pencil, with 0.7 mm lead. For the lineart, I used a black Pilot G-2 07 pen. All of the coloring (except the background) was done with the 24 Crayola colored pencils you saw. (You can get a lot of color out of 24 colors, if you shade and blend well.)

I did the background by first peeling a dark green Roseart crayon. I then colored the background using the side of my crayon (but for small areas, I lightly colored with the tip of the crayon) to generate a "chalky" effect. In my opinion, it's the simplest way to make a background on paper (and that's about the only thing I ever use crayons to do). For the text, I used a Sharpie Metallic Silver marker.

When you were on Tinychat, I was only coloring the body, and I hadn't done the background yet. Don't worry, colored pencils aren't my only resource. You were simply watching for a portion of the time that I took to make the drawing. c;

I think so? It just seemed familiar somehow. Either you did post it somewhere here once upon a time, or I am a psychic who has already seen it in my dreams or something and thought it was real, which I really doubt, because that just sounds silly.
Then again, I've had deja-vu moments before of things I had already dreamed of, so maybe it isn't so far-fetched after all. :/

But I'd rather bet on that you actually did upload it, and just forgot about it completely.

The weird thing is that I can't seem to find it myself either. Maybe the thread was deleted. Maybe someone else posted it somehow. I really don't know.
