WORST.DAY.EVER. 11/26/12

Alright, so where do I begin? Ah, I know. Right when the first cruddy thing happened.
At the dentist, getting a tooth ripped out of my mouth. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Yea. It only hurt for about a minute but the pain was bad. So then we went on our way to the store. BAM! My mom screamed and I felt like my brain went all over the place! I starting asking her what happened and she says we hit a deer. I started bawling my eyes out because I'm the kind of person who cant stand to see an animal hurt, no matter what kind of animal it is. So then I see the poor thing lying on the road and guess what? CARS STARTED COMING FROM ALL DIRECTIONS, AND NOBODY STOPPED TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON OR AT LEAST JUST ASK IF WE NEEDED HELP. People behind us drove right around us when my mom was in the road with me, crying in the car like a baby. How rude! The deer kind of scooted out of the road and took a swim in a little pond, then got back on land and just laid there like he was dead. Then we went somewhere (bla bla bla not important) and finally got to this auto body shop. WE WAITED THERE FOR 2 HOURS. While we were there my mom called my dad and told him everything. That's when I heard her say this: "Yeah, he got out of the pond, then got caught in barbed wire, got untangled and tried to run away but fell." The poor deer. Ohmygosh that made me cry some more ... Then I found out my dad was trying to find the deer so he could eat it. Cried after that, because he didn't care at all about if the poor thing was okay or anything. Then my mom said, "Well he should be in the same spot, I hit him pretty hard." Cry... Then we finally got our rental car because our's was too banged up to drive. So when we got home I took a shower and I asked my mom if dad found the deer and she said he didn't but there was a lot of blood.. I was kind of happy because I thought maybe the deer got away but maybe someone else took him.. and a lot of blood isn't that good.. But I had no more tears left anyways.
So.. today sucked. And I'm mad at myself for probably murdering a helpless animal. The thing that bugged me most is that nobody else cared about the deer but me..
And about my tooth.. Right now I'm eating goldfish (the crackers, lol..) because I cant eat anything hard for now... *sigh* My last day of freedom before school tomorrow, and that's pretty much how I spent it. Lucky me.

I hope your day gets better! Just think, if no deer died then it would be really bad. plus, isnt it hunting season? Well, do you at least like your rental car?

This is why people should pay more attention while driving. Did your parents actually care that they hit an animal?

I swear, my mom was paying attention. And the thing just JUMPED OUT OF NOWHERE. I'm not even kidding. The area where we think it came from, is full of really tall grass. But we didn't see it at all, if we did, we obviously wouldn't have hit it. My mom wouldn't do it on purpose.

I see. Deer aren't exactly the brightest of species, and I'm sorry for underestimating your mom. But some people actually do hit animals on purpose.

I know. It makes me so mad >.< Sometimes I think the police should put them on a lie detector and if they did it on purpose put them in jail..

Well, I agree that if no deer ever died it would be pretty bad... And yeah, today was the beginning of hunting season. My rental car is pretty cool, when we got in my mom said "Oh look a built in TV" and the insurance lady was like "Umm no, that's a camera that shows you what's behind you when you're backing up.." and that actually cracked me up.

My uncle hunts a lot, so sometimes we'll go to their house AND HE WILL BE CUTTING UP A DEER, and he'll be like 'ya want some venison?' and I'll be like 'NO.' So I get how you feel... sorry you're mouth hurts! I understand how you feel with the deer...I always flinch when I see roadkill.... *hugs again*

You are supposed to hit the animals. It's pretty much either the animal or you and your passengers/possibly the car(s) behind you.

Yes, but deer usually cross in country roads where the speed limit is higher. Say you were going at 50/55. A deer pops up unexpectedly right in front of your car. (As did happen in this situation.) I'm assuming her mom braked a bit to lessen the impact, but still hurt the deer pretty badly. Either the deer is going to get hit, or you are (most probable) going to hit some obstacle by swerving. Hitting the deer is the better option. You put yourself, your passengers, and possibly other cars around you at risk by not wanting to hit the deer.
You're right, there are deer crossings. But can deer read signs? Are they going to cross only right at the sign? Are cars going to go 25mph just because they're in a place (still country road) where deer sometimes cross? Deer crossings help, but if a deer decides to gallop into the street, out of some shrubs (or other situation where the deer is seen only just before the impact), just as a car is coming, an accident is inevitable.

I had to get 3 teeth pulled out one day to make room for my braces. (Yea. Ive had braces for 3 years now and I have a expander on the roof of my mouth (it makes room in my mouth) and I might need glasses. Yea im a nerd.) OMG IM GETTING OFF TOPIC. ITS LIKE MY BRAIN IS IN A DIFFERENT WORLD. IT COULD BE BECAUSE I HAVE MEMORY LOSS. I love deer. Where I used to live there was a deer on the side of the road for a couple day so I asked my mom if we could move it out of the way. She told me thats the cops job. Bless its soul. And one day I was in the car and some lady in front of us hit a deer! OMG I REALLY WANTED TO SUE HER. Poor deer. You know that over 1 million deer get hit everyday by cars? Gunna make me cry. ono
