FREAKING OUT 1/12/13

Hey hey!



Okay so I'm pretty sure a few of you remember me trying out for drum major, not making it (I was a freshman after all) and hoping to make it this year.... WELL our new director is holding auditions in a month! and well I'M FREAKING OUT. I want to be Drum major soooo badly guys. I've asked one of my currents drum majors to help me get ready (I love her conducting, she's very expressive in her body movements and conducting pattern) but I need help calming down. I can't mess up! I have to be drum major D:

AND what amkes things worse is two, no three, NO FOUR of my friends are trying out. I'm only a sophomore and two of my friends trying out are juniors, my other two friends are sophomores.


I just can't stop thinking about it guys. I can imagine it all; me getting accepted after auditions, me, conducting! It's a dream that I want to come true. No no it WILL come true... but I can't help but feel butterflys in my stomach >.<

help me guys I need reassurance and support really badly right now :c

OH MY GOD I LOVE THE DRUMS (haven't played one yet)

But,if you hand me a pencil I would just start tapping with it and making beats with it.

I've been practicing moving my pencil from one table in another and trying to keep up with the beat.

But I am so happy for you!I bet you'll get in no doubt!

I don't know much about this, but practice as much as you can. If you practice, you'll feel more comfortable about how good you are and you won't be as nervous, I hope.

well im freaking out because i really want you to become drum major but also i forget to make a topic.

ooh that's great news! the best advice i can give you is to keep practicing and keep calm and relaxed during your audition. i wish you the best of luck!!

Drums is pretty hard to do.. :3 You need a fast hands to do it right?.. xD

Good luck. I certainly hope your director doesn't have a favourite. And that your friends are sucky drummers (No offence). If you get to be drum major, then let me know.

I remember my first audition. I gave a good performance, but they picked this other guy instead since he was shorter or something. (Yeah, you can guess I do some acting.)

lol you guys are mistaking a drum major for drum captain o3o.

A drum major is the conductor and leader of the band during marching season.

First time I heard of it, though, I thought it had to do with drums too xDDDDD


Thanks for the support guys. I found my faster tempo piece. Now I needa find a contrasting piece with expression and a significantly slower tempo... perhaps even a percussion feature =3=

I'm sure you'll do well! Just practice and I guess feel the music. I don't really know, WHATEVER YOU DO TO DO WELL, DO IT. ;D

Wow, sounds stressing! I auditioned for serval groups with cello.
First of all, you should practice at least 1 hour a day.
Also practice bowing for when you audition.
