Subject: Have you ever been called ugly? (June 28, 2012) Wed Jun 27, 2012 2:28 pm
Man I'm kind of upset.
So today I was walking with my grandmother around the neighborhood trying to find her medicine and such. So we were walking on the sidewalk in front of 3 boys (probably quit high school) that I was not familiar with at all. And they were like, "Psst. Hey you! Psst, the ugly one!" like whispering but anyone could hear it. I was so offended and I still think of it now.
Now I'm not really considered ugly, I don't wear make-up or perfume or such. I'm not /soo/ attractive, and I know that, and I'm proud of myself, but that just lets me down. :/ I just can't stop thinking about being called ugly, and it's happened before, but I don't even know these people. I just kept walking, and my grandmother didn't understand because she mostly speaks Spanish so yeah...
Has this ever happened to you, being called ugly (plus, I'm only /12/, I'm going to start changing) by people you don't even know? *sigh*

It's alright. Don't let them bring you down, especially since you don't know them. Just keep your head up high. Remember that you're beautiful in your own way. ^^

Aww, don't worry! I bet you are absolutely beautiful. Remember what I said: If someone calls you ugly, it makes their personality ugly.
And yes, I have been called ugly. But, you know what? I know I'm not ugly. But I'm not the most attractive person in the world!
Everyone is pretty in their own way, if people don't think so, they should really keep it to themselves.

It's probably just some teen who's unpopular and looking for attention, so they just looked around and found you. It's nothing personal. But it's okay. We are all family on here, and we all ignore eachothers appearences. I am sure you are absolutely beautiful. No one is flawless. For example, I wish I had tanner skin. My skin is almost white. People can be mean about that sometimes. Don't ever be discouraged. Your personality is kind and beautiful. And that's what matters.

Thank you everyone. I know that song, I love it (not my favorite, I love the song "bring your head up" by this guy.) Yeah, I hate when people just want to call me ugly. If I tried to actually defend myself they could have hurt me (Well idk, they were tall and stuff). I feel so lucky. ;P

You should. I feel lucky to be surrounded by such nice and caring people. I love this forum because everyone is so kind. You guys are my friends, because I can rely on you guys for support when I need it. Fantage isn't the same way.

So... If you say that a friend of yours is pretty, then you're saying that you're pretty too? NOES. I DON'T WANT BRAG. I WANT-- okay.
Those dudes have to know about people's feelings. I mean if they were called ugly, they'd go on rage mode or be sad like you. Apparently, you can't change how you look unless you get surgery (but I'm sure you don't want that~). I'm also unattractive and have been called ugly a few times in life and I'm sure people I don't know called me ugly, too. Just ignore them. But it's a good thing that you have people supporting you and actually care about you, who you are, and not caring if you're attractive or not.

I'm actually going to agree with this.
While physical beauty is not terribly important, not everyone has it. It's a gift. I am not terribly beautiful, but I have seen people who are much prettier and also people who are considerably uglier. If you are beautiful, don't brag. If you're not, don't complain.

I think compliments get kind of annoying once in a while. If they keep saying, "Wow you are so grown, I remember you when you were like 3 years old! Now you are this height and ---" and such I get kind of whacked off.
Though I know not everyone is beautiful, but I just wanted to post this because I feel that they should have kept that to themselves. Yet a lot of people are pretty, everyone is, they just don't believe that. Awkward right?
Sorry if I kind of umm.... took this personally? I kind of shook it off now, but I just hate the word ugly when it comes to personality, beauty, religion, culture, etc.
