Art contests?

Everyone loves art contests, but they are only hosted very rarely by a few members.

My suggestion is, why don't the mods/admins host art contests monthly? Or maybe bi-monthly. I don't know. I know it's a lot of work, but still. We have those fantage contests don't we?

We could also have a contest theme suggestion topic. We want the contests to be fun, like "Make a drawing with only 5 colors. (this one was by someone on dA)".

That would be nice! We can draw, which we all like!

YES YES YES YES!!! I'm just wondering if we do have an art contest it could be by age groups because I don't like my art compared to 13-16 year old's artwork too.

I personally think this is a bad idea. What if the theme was to draw something digital? Some people on here don't have a tablet or suck at drawing digital art. me Also, if we have drawing competitions, can't we have writing ones too? Art isn't everyone's thing, so it would be unfair. Plus, people would get mad like how could she/he win? That face was off. @madoka some people don't like draw believe it or not

I would be glad to take part in it, though I'm not a great artist. My pictures look like a 3rd grader drew them. But, I will submit my artwork if we have a contest.

I have an idea. What if we have contests for different types of art. Like all Fantage art can be a category on it's own. but it would have subcategoires (digital art and non digital art). Then all other art can have cateogories and. Like this:

Fantage:

Other Art:

I just made these categories up as an example. there can be writing contest, too. but some people (like me) suck at making stories those contests can be divided based on the genre.

So, you think this is a good idea?

That would be fun to see how much people have progressed also we should have one contest with no digital art at all! I might get a tablet on my bday then I will like digital art. I am pretty good at free hand but I might not enter that many.

actually, nobody here would do an art contest where the theme is to draw something digital because it isnt even a real theme and as you said, it wouldnt be fair. and i think weve had a few writing contests before. i think there have actually been more writing contests than art contests, so i feel we need another art contest.

but i agree with you on the last one. the last art contest we had turned out pretty bad because there wasnt enough time and the judge(s) picked all the winners based on preferred art style, rather than quality, which was really unfair.

but this time i think weve got some better judges so lets do it! its been far too long since fantage forum last actually had an art contest.

I can't say I really care too much about art contests since art isn't my kinda of thing anymore [it used to be]. Although, I'd like to come back to it once in a while.

Its a good idea, but it might go unfair and cause drama. [Even if I do join, I'll never win i mean i haven't drewn in a long time man]

I wouldn't really care if we did art contests, I don't draw much. But sure, it's an idea.

That's not really a theme as it is unfair.

I was thinking about writing ones too, believe me.

I also think this forum is mature enough not to be sore losers or at least not show it.

Go right ahead. I think we need some contests, but keep in mind that Mace and the other staff are busy.

heck the only reason i've been on so much this past week is because i'm sick and have been staying home from school ^^;;;
