| INTRO. So, I couldn't help but notice that many of the people using this forum like to pixel. Well, there is a right and a wrong way to do this, and I'm going to try to tell you the correct way to do pixel art in a short and sweet fashion.
BASICS. First things first! The absolute most important rule is: DON'T HAVE TWO LINES INTERSECTING ONE ANOTHER WITHOUT GETTING RID OF THE PIXEL IN THE CORNER. A solid line in pixel art is a no-no! Some instances can't be helped, but if it is a corner, pixel so the last two pixels that are meeting are not connected directly, but diagonally. This will make the pixel art look smoother, and really, a lot better. Also, MS Paint is a very good program for pixelling, because it is a pixel based program.
COLORING PIXEL ART. When coloring pixel art, it is wise to use a base color. What I mean is, let's say you have a pixel girl, and you want her hair to be brown. You would fill the desired area (the hair) with a single shade of brown. That would be the base color. From this color, you will get the colors for the shading and the colors for where the light source hits your pixel art. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO SHADE, YOU MUST PICK WHERE THE LIGHT SOURCE, AKA THE SUN, WILL BE IN YOUR ART. The light source can be anywhere in the picture, and when shading it is always good to keep in mind where you placed it. The light source does not have to be in the picture as well, but it's just imaginary so you know where to put shiny parts and the shading. Now, shade according to the light source wherever you believe it should be shaded. After that, you can add shiny parts to the parts that will be hitting the light. | |

| I tried to help you all, because you aren't doing it right. Don't you want to be able to pixel your own works instead of simply recoloring other ones? (BTW recoloring is considered plagiarism on deviantART, so if you're going to recolor, don't submit it there.) | |

| Also, it wasn't meant to be offensive. I'm sorry that your brother is mentally challenged and I'm sorry for offending you but I am not changing the title. Your moderator can do that if it is truly necessary for you not to be offended. | |
