your opinion on : child pagents

So i want to see your opinion on child pagents. The best refference would be the TLC show Toddlers and tiares. what do you think?
heres my opinion:
I hate it. these mothers and occasionly fathers force their children into doing these very expensive pagents that the kids really do not enjoy. i think the parents are so insecure about themselves and end up putting their kids through all the pain. I really wish TLC would cancel this , maby in a way it kind of abuse. And the fact that there outfits are soo well here a picture

That mother is so insecure. I have "friends" that are insecure (ex: ahahahaha i'm so rich. i live in a house with a view.); yet nothing as close to this mother. She really needs to grow up, stop living her life on that poor innocent kid, and give her to another mom that'll be glad to have her. /facepalm

The stuff is expensive too.

it's kind of "ego-inducing" ;P

Some of the children enjoy it. LOL.

and I've seen some families that save up the money that they win for their child's school.

like this one girl had +$40,000 saved up JUST from pageants.

I personally find it disturbing, yeah maybe it's fun for them, but still. If they truly, GENUINELY enjoy doing the pageants, then I say it's okay. But if you're forcing the kid into doing them, as if you're living through your own child, then no. And also, fake teeth are kind of disturbing. Glitz freaks me out.
The only other problem is it can give them a complex, so..

Yes but some -most- of the time they spend over $5,000 dollars when the grand prize doesn't even give back half of what they paid to prepare for it.
Also all the little girls they show on Toddlers in Tiaras really seem to enjoy it.

I simply wish it was outlawed... These are kids not fame/money making barbie dolls.


The fact that over half of the pageant girls I know are brats doesn't help with the cause either.

Just my humble opinion though.
