| Ok. So 4/4 is one full unit, right? In other words, 4/4 is the same as 25/25, 50/50 and 100/100.
The easiest thing to do is work out the 3/4 part first. So, here's how you can do it, the easy way:
100 divided by 4 = 25 x 3 = 75.
That's the after decimal part, the part that is not whole ie fraction. And 5 is the whole number. Therefore, 5.75 is the answer.
If you don't understand I can try to explain a little bit better.. ^^

| 5 3/4 okay. to turn a fraction into a decimal you always divide the bottom into the top (like how many times can the denominator go into the numerator?) So how many times can 4 go into 3? it ends up to be .75 so if you have 1/3 how many times can 3 go into 1? it's a repeating 3 a.k.a. .333333333333... loool. okay. another example? lets use an IMPROPER FRACTION! 12/6 how many times can 6 go into 12? TWICE, so the answer is 2 [: ALRIGHTY. so let me what comrade was tryna say :3 (that's a face lol) if the numerator and the denominator have the same number, it's always equal to ONE. 10/10 = 1 2/2= 1 infinity / infinity = 1 because fractions are showing you how much of something is there, compared to the OVERALL that's possible. lol that confused me. it's like a pie. if you have a full pie, and then cut it into 4 slices. and nobody eats anything. you have 4/4 = 1 full pie. right? then lets say, YOU GOTS HUNGREH. so you ate a slice :3 now how many slices do you have? three. how many slices did you have, originally ( to fill the pie plate?) four. so now you have 3/4 slices of pie (three out of four) and 1 = 100% right? right. that's where comerade got that from lol. I think I jumped around too much there o_o uhmm pm me if you don't get it lol. I'll make a video for you | |

| SORRY FOR DOUBLE POSTING.
so the decimal becomes 5.75
because you turn the fraction into a decimal and then add the whole number...

Dw shapes will come back to you in geometry xD I thought pentagons were six sides. ;A; I get the octo trick. But I can't memorize the other ones. I also get the "quattro" trick, as in, ''four'' in Spanish...but sometimes I forget. |

That spanish trick is a smart one! Never thought of that lol. And pentagons are five sided shapes. Idk any tricks for hexa or penta.. I guess penta has 5 letters? haha. I always had to just memorize.

YES. THAT HELPS. Maybe i can use google translate to translate penta into some language. Or look up the definition. Or maybe I can use that trick. -Epic smiley face- |

| I don't like math, but I'm good at it. o_o Even if you already know the answer, I still want to do the problem, lol..
Divide the bottom into the top, is what my teacher says all the time to get a decimal.
4)3 [My way of doing 4/3, lol.]
4 can't go into 3, so add a decimal point in front of the 3 [3.] and add a 0. [3.0] 4 can go into 30 7 times, and 30 - 28 = 2. Add another 0 to the 2, which is 20, and 4 goes into 20 5 times, then add the whole number in front. Therefore, your answer is 5.75.
Sorry if it sounds a bit confusing, lol..
EDIT; I just figured out another way to remember this stuff. Think of it like this; Quarters. 1/4 = 25. [One quarter equals 25.] 2/4 = 1/2 / 50. [Two quarters is a half, or 50, which is half of a dollar.] 3/4 = 75 4/4 = 100.
