Lacadia (RP)

Jakobus had mixed feelings about Iris' compliment. On one hand, he was glad someone was at least acknowledging his nice work, but on the other hand he felt she might have somehow been mislead into thinking he needed her approval or cared what she thought.
He shrugged slightly to himself, looking down at the remains of his work with a smug expression. At least that was one monster down so far, and he doubted it was gonna get much harder.

She sighed. "Well, next monster." she said, panting a bit. Sacha had actually crawled to the floor so she didn't knock him off in action. She stepped over the corpse of the monster, not touching a scale on it. She progressed towards the next monster.

"Yeah!" he agreed, taking a deep breath out before adding on confidently, "That was just a warm-up after all, ehe~"
He couldn't help but run a bit ahead of her, now eager to fight the next monster, though it was more out of a want to show off than anything else.

She chuckled a bit to his response. Very, very faint slurping noises were heard once they walked far enough. "Y'hear that? May be a reptile." she said.

"Yeah!" he called back at her, now quite a bit of distance ahead of her. He'd never fought while intoxicated before, but so far it seemed to be working well for him and he felt much more confident than usual.

"You want me to attack this time?" she called. She didn't want him to do all the work, and she felt like taking turns would be the best option.

He slowed down before coming to a complete stop and looking back at her. "Sure, whatever man." he shrugged, trying to cover his disappointment by pretending to not care. He supposed it wasn't fair for him to have all the fun, though he honestly didnt care about fairness, he did suppose he was there thanks to her anyway.

"Alright." she supposed. They trailed on through the dungeon. She decided, since the trip to the next monster was going to be long (at least for her, since Jakobus was running), she could say something at least. "Tell me if you hear anything, since you seem to be a bit farther."

Jakobus couldn't help but smirk at Iris' last comment. "Sure thing!" he called back to her before continuing on the path, picking up his pace slightly but not too much as his movements were still kind of all over the place.
As he ran, he began to hear the sound of faint noises growing progressively louder as he neared them, and so he ultimately decided to slow down and give Iris a chance to catch up.

"Already?" she asked as she neared him. She started to run a bit, crossbow in hand. "Alright, give me a second to ready this thing." She pulled the lever on the bow to give it extra range and push, then added in two more bolts as a filler for the ones she used for the previous monster.

Jakobus was somewhat irritated by Iris' weapon of choice and was honestly thinking of going on ahead and leaving her behind. He thought it sort of unfair that she was able to attack the enemy without having to get close to it, and he'd never exactly been fond of crossbows in general to begin with (they take too much time to prepare, and they just make you look lazy so really, what's the point?)
"Done yet?" he asked as she shot the arrow, his patience nearly nonexistent despite the fact Iris really wasn't taking long at all. His ego had grown several times its original size since they'd been in the cave and he was eager to fight (and hopefully slay) some other monsters.

"Yep!" she huffed as she lifted it up to necessary range. "Good thing this is standard size. Let's go." Her crossbow was lifted as she softly stepped through the dungeon floors, looking for enemies.

Jakobus, not really knowing what to do, followed in Iris's lead, wanting to lead the way but not really knowing how. He decided it would be a good idea to refrain from saying anything unnecessary, or doing anything unnecessary, for that matter.

Iris started quickening her pace until they reached the corner.  She was actually startled to see the monster appear so suddenly.  This one looked almost exactly like a wyvern, only differing due to the fact it had no wings and no horns or other adornments upon its head.  

She lifted the crossbow lense up to her eye, squinting the other, to get a good view.  A shot from her range, 20 feet or so, definitely would not kill if she aimed for its head.   She slowly moved around until she found a good spot to aim for the foot.  Her fingers wrapped around the trigger, and pushed back.  Once a bolt was fired, it let out a whiff sound as it shot off.  It hit the monter right above the ankle, just a bit farther from her destination.  Thank God it's a little slow, at least.

Jakobus kept his distance from the monster and waited patiently (or as patiently as was possible for him), though a very strong sense of temptation to go ahead and kill it without Iris finishing was definitely intact. The monsters would probably get stronger as they went along, he inferred, so perhaps the next monster would be worth letting Iris have this one.

The monster started limping towards Iris, a little bit quicker than before. "Now! Distract it!" she called over.

"What?!" he yelled out in response and, not sure what he was supposed to do, began to just wave his hands around in the air and make loud noises. He knew he was making a fool out of himself, but he didn't really care at this point considering some of the things he had done earlier in the night.
His movements were less than perfect, and his vision was still slightly blurred from the earlier intake of alcohol, so his overall performance was sloppy to say the least.

Iris sighed when she heard what Jakobus was doing. To her surprise, though, it worked. The monster snarled and limped over to his direction when it was about 8 feet away from her. Her face lightened up a bit. "Good, keep doing that!"

Jakobus felt a strong sense of pride wash over him, and noticing that his plan, though pathetic, was indeed working, he decided to go a little bit more over the top with it, shouting threats and curses out at the monster along with the expected, "Come and get me!" type lines.
He tightly gripped the hilt of his sword, just in case the monster charged at him before Iris had the chance to shoot it down.

Iris ran several feet towards the monster, with her crossbow lense still plastered to her right eye. It was focused on the right side of its neck. She slid her left leg abruptly to stop herself, and quickly fired, her focus still on the same place. It let out a whiff sound once again as she pulled the trigger. In a few seconds, the bolt made its way towards the underside of where its ear was.

Jakobus shot Iris a 'really?' look, wondering if that was the best she could do. Sure, shooting a bow probably wasn't that easy, but it was her own fault for choosing that particular weapon, and he was going to be severely pissed off if anything happened to him while he waited for her to kill the monster. He realized the monster had started heading towards Iris again with that last shot, and out of desperation he looked at the ground for any object he could pick up and throw at the creature.
After a couple of seconds of searching, he found a fairly sizable rock and hurled it at the monster.

The rock Jakobus had thrown at the monster had hit it right on the back of its head. It stopped suddenly, looked back and forth and argued who to attack. Quickly, it snarled, and charged for Iris, who was now on her feet.

"Not working!" she yelled, and quickly fired another bolt. She didn't have much time to aim, and she went focused on its forehead, knowing it probably wouldn't work, but if it did, end up a bit downwards from where she aimed. Surprisingly (and to her fancy), it hit the monster directly in its eyeball. A gross sight to see, but as a warrior, Iris was forced to handle it.

"I'll just take a quick snag at it with my sword, to distract it, alright?" Jakobus yelled to her, not actually caring to hear her answer before taking action.
The monster had entered a state of confusion with Iris's last attack, and the confusion soon escalated to anger directed at Iris, so now was the perfect chance to hit it really quickly.
Jakobus charged for its rear, trying to remain as light on his feet as possible as to not draw attention to himself with noise, but to still maintain as much speed as possible.
He quickly extended his sword and managed a light hit from behind the monster before hastily retreating backward to his former position.

The monster whimpered each hit they gave it, and turned around to get Jakobus back. It was even slower, cringing a bit this time. Slowly, she repeated the procedure she did trying to aim at its neck. The monster was not too far from her, so the bolt would have a bigger effect this time.

She changed the focus from its neck a little bit more towards the head and to the right. After a clicking noise from the trigger, another whiff was emitted from the crossbow once she fired. Iris grinned as soon as she saw the bolt land deep into the monsters neck. The neckbone and tear ducts were good vital zones in most monsters, she was taught so by many.

Chou is walking around the road, sighing she has gotten far by herself which is surprising, heading to the next town to repair her weapon, her weapon previously had broke on its way here and the horse still following Chou but not allowing her to put on the saddle on the horse.
