| Hi guys. So the other day was my friend's birthday, and I decided to make her a drawing as a gift. I think I have improved at traditional art. The girl on the right is my friend, and the blue bear represents the soccer team she is on. Rate out of ten, critique, or anything else along those lines: (Sorry about my scanner making it look crooked.) Tools used: A Pentel (or Papermate) mechanical pencil 24 Crayola colored pencils A black Sharpie pen (the best kind of pen in the world) And a red Crayola crayon for the red outline | |

| I think you improved her body.... too much lol. I give it a 9. Where is that light coming from? o.o And I think there needs to be a few more shades here and there. But other than that, it looks so... great! Also, the eye makes her looks tired? From here it kind of does. | |

Also, the light source is coming from the front, but it's a bit high. So basically, the light source is coming from in front of the characters and it's about as high as their heads, should I say. And I was rushing on the coloring because somebody else wanted me to draw something for here once I finished the drawing, so I didn't have much time to add more shading. And thank you!

And thank you! I guess I used the incorrect words. I meant that you improved by a lot, I guess too much for this picture? I don't know, ignore my first sentence lol. And your welcome.

Thank you! Bears are my favorite animal, so of course I had to draw a bear. And the shirt is from Justice!

| I think your friend will really like the picture you gave her, I still think you have a few things you need to improve on. I really liked the eyes you drew, except they do sort of make her look tired like abstract said. It's a really awesome picture! | |

Thanks, and yes, there's always room for improvement, eh? The eye is just a bit slanted at the top, so I can understand how it makes her look "tired". However, it looks better in real life, trust me.

| It is nice, although I see major errors that most people on here may not notice.
First, what is up with her left shoulder? Put your arm in that position and lit'ook in a mirror. Does it look like that? Also, a quick tip, make the mouth, nose, and eyes a little bit higher but keep the chin where it is. Your facial features seem to low. Although, I am not the one to talk because I don't even know where to place mine. But either way, yeah. Next, the left side of her chest. I get the shirt may work like that, but the human body doesn't I also realize the post she's in, but it HAS to look more like the right side. Oh I just noticed her hand. MAKE. IT. BIGGER. Keep in mind that your hand is always as big as your face, unless you have some sort of disorder, which I'm pretty sure she doesn't. I know, it'll look terrible AS big as the face but just try making it bigger. Even if it's by the slightest bit. Okay, look at her right upper leg. What the heck is going on there? It seems as if she has a triangle-butt. No. You have a circle-butt. Don't be afraid to make curves. I barley see any curvyness in your drawing. Even with kids, you usually have curvyish legs. Especially females. And even if it was a boy, which I know it isn't, I'm just giving an example, it'd be curvier and have a round butt. Keep in mind arms are somewhat curvy and then reference different pictures and come up with different body types, and get more help on anatomy by that. Either that or you could make quick sketches and ask for critique. ALSO COLLARBONE D:<
I would provide a redline but I am a huge procrastinator.
Overall, 8.9/10 (It would be 9 but collarbones just irritate me so much I do not know why??)

Her left shoulder? Do you mean the shoulder of the arm that's hanging down, or the shoulder of the arm that's hugging the bear? The shoulder of the arm that's hanging down is sort of crooked, but I don't see what's wrong with the other shoulder. However, I will admit that drawing an arm in that pose is something I haven't done before, so it's pretty tricky for me. I'll bet it does look awkward, but I tried not to make it look too bad. I'm aware the facial features look low. It's because I made the nose too big. You see, the eyes are actually at the right height, but I drew the nose longer than it should be, which gives little room for the mouth. I do apologize about that. I am not sure what you meant when you were talking about the left side of her chest, so could you please red line it (not the whole drawing, just the chest area)? That would help a lot! On her hand, the fingers aren't completely stretched out. Sure, it looks way smaller than it should be, but that's because I drew the fingers in a bent pose, so you can't see the whole fingers. Don't worry, I didn't make the butt triangular. In the sketch, it looked round. The edge of her shirt is a little bit pointy, but the line art makes it look pointier than it should. Also, the body isn't that curvy because that's just the way I like to draw. I'm afraid that I might make the body look too round (and fat) if I do focus on making it curvy, so I barely make my drawings curvy. I understand you would rather that I drew a collarbone, but I did not, sorry. I was actually thinking of including a collarbone while I was sketching, but I decided not to for two reasons: 1. If I drew the collarbone, the drawing would not look like my friend. I mean, her collarbone is not visible yet, so the collarbone would be an awkward addition to my drawing. 2. I was too lazy to take the time to draw one. :/ However, I really appreciate your input, and I'll definitely follow your advice to ask for critique on a sketch! @Piper, lol, thanks!
