RP: Pain [Remade]

Spirit looked both ways before crossing the parking lot. In her hand was a bag of groceries; simple stuff like canned food, matches, a flashlight, and a water bottle. She did this once a week after her current supplies ran out or broke. After leaving the parking lot she headed north, leaving the city limits for a secluded woodland area within a rich older gentelman's large yard. She was trespassing of course, but the man never bothered securing his land anywy, besides she didn't hurt anything or any body. After reaching her camp she plopped down pushed the groceries aside, doused herself in bug spray and read a charming book about children with Greek god parents.

Break watched Spirit leave the city, deciding to shadow her for a while, but not take anything. He had food to last today and possibly the next if he was careful, and stealing from too many people on the same day was sure to rouse some suspicion. He stuck out enough as it was. But something about her walking around by herself was strange, most people around here didn't walk such distances if it could be avoided. Also, she seemed to be walking right onto some person's property. He couldn't be sure, though. All the land looked the same, be it public or private.

Cookie said goodbye to Venus, and left the hideout. She decided to camp out at her favorite place in the forest, and went to the fishing pond. She cooked some fish and heard the crunching of grass. Frightened, she took a sharp rock and searched for the person who was making the noise.

(( I'm going to be gone until late tomorrow, when I get the wifi set up at Mexico. Whatever. It's probably not a big deal anyway. ))

After reading a couple chapters she reluctantly put down the book and got up. She walked over to a ring of large smooth rocks with ashes within it. She cleared them out and put in some large branches and a ton of dry leaves and grass. Taking a match she lit it and then the dead grass, blowing on it softly to get the flame to grow and leap to the larger branches.

" That's quite a fire you got going there," Connect said, her hands filled with medicine bottles. " It's also quite interesting how you were able to make it without matches..And using the materials that are supplied for you in the backyard of someone you trespassed. Connect grinned, staring at the growing flame. She thought how delicious it would be to roast marshmallows in-front of it, and to absorb the heat onto her cold-breeze shaken skin.

Break ducked back behind the trees for cover. He'd been watching Spirit for a while, but Connect being there could only mean trouble. She was armed, and she'd seen him commit crimes. What was she even doing out there? She worked at a freaking hospital, that had to be pretty time-consuming. Either way, this Spirit girl didn't seem very intelligent. Lighting fires on someone else's property. Break decided to back off while he could, trying to get out of the area without alerting either girl of his presence. If he stepped on a stick, it was all over.

Spirit jumped back when the girl appeared. She wasn't used to people making surprise visits... In fact it never happened. Judging by how the girl acted, she didn't appear to be an immediate threat, but spirit kept her guard up nonetheless. "Actually," she said her voice shakey," I did have some help from matches." she fished out the tiny matchbox and showed the girl it. She coughed awkwardly and sat down cross legged, "as for the trespassing... I try not to hurt anything or take too much. I am no threat to anybody here. Umm... But why are you here...?"

Connect smiled. " I'm not here to get you in trouble," Connect said, sitting next to Spirit. She stacked the medicine bottles in front of her. " I have to take these to the Hospital, but they're not open to any visitors until 11:00 AM. So I still have a good hour." Connect turned to Spirit. " So, what's your name?" Connect asked her, pushing her platinum blonde bangs out of her hair. " I'm Connect. Don't ask about the name. I know it's stupid. It has something to do with a secret I have, though."

 "It's something to do with a secret I have, though." Connect's words stopped Break short. He slowly backed up to where he was previously. Perhaps Connect's secret, if she decided to tell Spirit, would tell him something about why she looked so familiar. This was definitely worth sticking around for, if they didn't notice him. Luckily, Break was pretty good at being inconspicuous. All he had to do was wait and hope for the best.

" I lost my memory a while ago. I have no family, and I had no idea what happened. I tried and tried, but I couldn't remember anything from three weeks ago!" Connect sighed, adjusting the pink ribbon that was fastened into her platinum blonde hair. " I really don't know why. One day, I just woke up. And the weird thing is, I wasn't in the hospital. I was just at home. In my bed. Alone. However, when I woke up, I discovered something weird. I cut my hand, and my skin HEALED ITSELF. I thought It was just because the cut was small, but when I scraped my knee, the same thing happened. Then, I knew it. I have these healing powers. I can heal myself, and anyone else. Not to mention, I have these weird arrows and a bow." Connect summoned her bow, showing it to Spirit. She pulled an arrow into it. " No matter WHERE I hit someone, even the neck or chest, they don't die. They just go numb, and, like, knock out. It's weird. But now I work at a hospital, so I don't have much use for these. But I still use them to help people." Connect settled the bow and sheath behind her back. She smiled. " Sorry to dump my life story on you. Or, at least, the past three weeks of it."

Spirit listened wide-eyed. Connect, this strange girl from out of no where, was like Spirit. Alone, confused, and yet... Powerful. "so wait... You... You can...?" Spirit tried to speak but all this time she thought she was alone, were the gods guiding her at last? She cleared her throat and smiled. "Well... I'm Spirit, a name I have myself, and I think... I think I'm very much like you. I'm sure the gods planed this... I'm sure of it!" she stuck her hand out to the girl hoping to get a handshake.

Connect felt slightly confused. " G-gods?" She said, her head slightly turning. However, she held out her hand and shook Spirit's hand. " I don't understand..What gods?"

{ She doesn't remember her mission, but she will soon. Spirit just needs to give her a little nudge, and she'll remember.}

Spirit stated for a second and smiled. She didn't remember much except about herself except for the gods and how they played some type of role in her life and everyone else's. "the gods, rulers of this realm. They watch, guide, and even trick or help us directly. Our existence as beings in this world was created wholly by them. The grass, the air, our life essence and even our deaths are wound into a tapestry by them." she paused in thought before continuing," we'll they don't all directly create the tapestry. One god is in charge of that, but they all influence him and us. If that makes any sense..."

" Oh." Was all that Connect could manage to push out of her vocal cords. " M-maybe these Gods can give me my memories back?! AND TELL ME WHY I HAVE THESE POWERS?" She turned to Spirit, and grabbed her by the shoulders. " D-do you know how to contact them?!"

Spirit was taken by surprise by Connect's abruptness and almost fought the girl. Although, this girl didn't feel much like a threat so she restrained herself. "Well... Erm... I can't," she said flatly. "I think there's a way... But I have no clue how... And I don't even know which god or goddess we should contact... Everything has been quite a mystery to myself as well."

" Oh." Connect said once again, letting go of Spirit and placing her hands in her lap. She looked down, thinking. Finally, she lifted her head up. " Do you have any powers? You seem a lot like me."

Spirit squinted her eyes and looked at the girl before answering: "Yes I do, it may be complicated to explain so beat with me haha," she said with a lighthearted laugh.

"Well the most basic way to explain it is that I can adjust and control photons so that I can adjust and control light. However! This isn't restricted to the light we naturally see, I have recently
Learned I can adjust and show the "inner light" of people and creatures. By doing so I have some control over a person. Nothing big, I mean I can't make you make me a sandwich for instance," spirit said smiling," however I can adjust your aura to make your body go haywire and cause a headache or something. It's not easy... I'm still uhhh learning." she blushed embarrassed by her own ignorance.

Connect thought for a minute. " I don't know why I'm not like that..I've pretty much mastered my powers." Connect looked at the sky. " They're kinda easy, though. All I have to do is, uh, think. I could show you if you like." Connect picked up a slightly sharp rock, scraping it against her delicate skin. She winced, as a drop of blood fell down the cut onto her hand. " Watch." Connect put her other hand over the wound, and closed her eyes, concentrating on the cut becoming healed, time reversing. Connect opened her eyes, holding her hand out to Spirit. The place where her cut was replaced with a thin layer of delicate skin. " I also use this stuff, called healing silk. It's a bit tougher. It takes the immediate pain out of the person, but it doesn't solve the problem. Only my hand-on healing does. But this healing silk is good for my arrows! transfer the ill from the silk into this blue gem on my bow, and it uses the ill to shoot and make the target's body numb." Connect pulled the bow from behind her, showing Spirit the blue gem. " Then, I just aim." Connect slipped the arrow into the bow, aiming for a nearby squirrel. She shot, and the arrow pierced the heart of the squirrel. However, it didn't die; It became numb.

Break stood motionless, taking in every word that came out of the two girls. So they thought they were some sort of chosen one sent back from the dead by the gods, or something like that. Break knew they had creepy powers, but after all he had seen in his life he didn't think it too crazy. Besides, with all this new technology and the like you can barely tell magic from reality. But now he had their word for it that this was some sort of supernatural gift. Break had no idea how to react, other than to take every precaution in going by unnoticed when they left. If they knew he had been watching them, they probably had the ability to take him out. No one would even report him missing.

Spirit winced as the squirrel went numb, because for a split second she thought it would die. "wait so... It isn't even hurt? Like if you took the arrow out... It would be healed? And does your hands onm healing Cure things besides wounds? Like cancer or diseases!?" she asked excitedly.

Connect was surprised at Spirit's interest. People had became so used to her, they didn't see her power as something interesting anymore. " It only hurts when the arrow enters the body. Then, it just feels numb. It doesn't even leave a mark! It's kinda as if the arrow goes THROUGH the body, not even touching it." Connect summoned the arrow back to her, with the Squirrel. She began to pet it on her lap, as she healed some problems it had. " And yep, my hands on healing does. I usually work on the Hospital, but I'm taking a few days off. I just have to drop this medicine off. I'm not allowed to use my healing silk at the hospital, so I usually stay up all night draining some of my powers and using them to make this medicine." She held one of the bottles of medicine up. " I only do hands on healing during serious emergencies. Other than that, no healing silk. And they prefer me changing my power into medicine rather than hands on healing patience in stable condition. I think it's stupid, but not much I can do." Connect shrugged.

Spirit nodded very interested in Connect. "I wish I could help people like you... I usually go out and walk around 'till I see someone in need of something... Usually something simple. But you? You help make miracles." Spirit sighed dreamily, thinking about how she could some day make a difference. "So how do you make the medicine? If you don't mind me asking."

Break would've written all this down if he had a pencil and paper. Healing, interesting... He thought, moving as close as he dared to catch the rest of their conversation. No wonder she works at a hospital. That must come in handy a lot.

Connect smiled, letting the Squirrel go. " It's not really easy, which is the main reason I don't get much sleep." Connect picked up the medicine bottle, and opened it. The liquid inside was odourless and was transparent. " First, I have to create a whole new piece of healing silk, and I have to grind it down into this. It's really difficult, since the healing silk is meant to be un breakable. It takes at least 2 hours to make one bottle of this stuff. The way I grind it is by tearing each stitch, and it turns into this purified liquid stuff. It's really weird. Then, I bottle it and they make the patients drink it. I wish I could heal everyone in the hospital hands on! That way I'd be able to send more people home to their families."
