"Nope," she said. "Dad and I agreed not to use guns unless its some sort of an emergency."
"We set off looking for the source of the bullet, but then we found you." Dad finally decided to speak.

((Yeah, sorry about that.))
“Ah…well, that’s not good…that’s not at all. If there’s someone else in the area, it could mean trouble.” Mila said in response, noting that what appeared to be Athena’s father had finally spoken.
“So, what do we suggest we do, then?” Mila asked, looking from Athena to her father, unsure of which one the question should have been directed to.

"Maybe we should just leave them, Dad." she suggested. "Can we just go loot the houses?"
He began thinking, and he rubbed his hand over his forehead. It only took him a few seconds until he spoke. "Fine," he decided.
"So, you agree?" Athena asked Mila. "It's pretty dangerous, we already know that person has a gun. It sounded like a shotgun, to me."
"If you come, we can give you some food." Dad persuaded.

Lottie headed deeper into the town. It was odd how walkers didn't approach her as often as they did when the pandemic first began. Her ears perked upward slightly, the thought escaping her mind; she could have sworn she heard distant shouts and the quiet groans of zombies not too far from where she was.
Not the best idea she's had so far, but she began to trek deeper to where there were probably groups of walkers just waiting to devour her. It was worth a shot, right?
"Probably gettin' myself into more trouble," she mumbled to herself.

Mila thought for a moment, wondering if she should take them up on their offer. She hadn’t eaten in several days, nor had she had anything to drink. She didn’t usually like to get help from people, but this seemed like a great opportunity that could prove to be crucial to her survival. She didn’t care about the danger they had mentioned either; she was used to that by now. The world had been taken over by zombies and danger was kind of the ‘norm’ by now.
“I’ll go with you…” she answered after some thought. She couldn’t afford to let this one slide, she needed the food and she needed the supplies.

Caroline sighed, and opened the door to the basement. She pointed. " They're all over the place. I'll stay guard while you guys get them and load them into the car."

Thana, now exhausted, wasn't dry pleased to have the girl almost order around. She shot the irl a cold look, but did as the girl asked. Before walking any farther she asked a simple question with a very bossy tone, "I'm sorry, but what is your name? It seems that I have yet to learn it with all his hub bub."

She wasn't pleased with herself, time was ticking and the chance to find her sister dwindled faster with each moment. She almost felt like making a mad dash to her car and leave hem in the dust, but something much more overpowering surprised the idea. She couldn't quite pt her finger on it...

"...It doesn't matter if they're monsters now. They used to be people just hoping for a chance, I mean, it's pretty silly how some day we might be getting shot and not even being called our names some day, just zombie..." Jamie kept mumbling to themselves, but decided to simply go down the basement as they were told to do. As Caroline (now leading?) had said, it was full of pipes. "I say five would be an ok number, for each..."

" Take as many as you want," Caroline said, plastering a heart-warming smile on her face. " We also can take the knives from the kitchen drawer." She said. " But right now, get the pipes and 'll stay guard." Caroline raised the pipe up.

"Awesome, new recruit!" Athena smiled. "Guess we should start go-"
"Wait," Dad interrupted. "before we do any traveling, we need to eat. Especially if she's hungry."
"Can we go in a house?" Athena asked.
"'Course, as long as it's empty." Dad said. "Mila, do you have a house in this town, or are you just a visitor?"

“I don’t have a house. I did manage to find a small place to live in, but there are hardly any supplies left there…” Mila responded, realizing that they were newcomers to this area. Maybe she should have made a run for it earlier? If they were newcomers that meant they most likely weren’t familiar with the area, and that meant they might not be able to help her out. She decided she’d stick with them until she got something to eat and then maybe see if their company was worth her time.

"Hmm," Dad rubbed his chin. "that's fine. Let's just go in this pastel house right here. Looks pretty big. Unless you guys want something else."
"I like it. This apocalypse has some benefits. I can live in almost any house I want!" Athena agreed. "What do you say, Mila? We'll check it out on the inside first, though, before we come to any conclusions."

“Sure…I suppose I’ll follow you, then?” Mila asked, shifting her weight from one side to another. She looked up at the house and then shifter her gaze to Athena and her dad, eying them suspiciously and silently questioning their plan. This house seemed like it had been abandoned a long time ago, which meant that there most likely had been zombies in it at one point and the zombies could very well still dwell on the inside. The house also seemed pretty large meaning that zombies could hide inside of it more easily, but on the other hand also meant there were probably a lot of supplies on the inside.

"Get your weapons ready," Athena said. Dad neared the door and reached for the knob. It seemed to be unlocked, so he swung it open. He knocked on the wall, to try to get any zombies' attention. He looked around. Nothing came. "Come on in," he said. Athena stepped in and opened the nearby closet.
"Ugh, I think theres some droppings in here." she complained. "Not a surprise, though. I'll clean it up later if we pick this house." She took her knife out her toolbelt. "Try not to use a gun." She told Mila. She tried her best not to seem too demanding, but make sure Mila was doing the right thing.

Mila looked at her blankly, did this girl not realize the only weapon she had with her was a gun? Where would she put anything else? It didn’t matter anyway, if there were zombies she could just fend them off using psychical combat and then make a run for it. She could also just use Athena and her dad as bait.

"Dad, what about Luke? Where do I put him?" Athena asked. "I can't fight with a baby in my hand."
"Uh, just put him... Look, that basket. Just put a blanket in there and something soft. He'll be fine."
Athena shrugged. "Well, there's nothing else." She walked over to the empty basket and placed Luke beside it. She took her backpack off and dug for the thickest blanket she could find. There was the purple one she had. She grabbed it, folded it, and placed it in the basket. Afterwards, she placed Luke in it too. It looked like a bassinet, just home-made. Don't judge, Athena thought. It was sort of embarassing to have Mila watching. Although, she kind of giggled a little herself.

"Yeah, ok..." God, this girl was thick. Jamie didn't really want to cooperate with her, but she was so blunt... with Thana's slight middleground they guessed it could work. Knives... were all right. Jamie used them a lot but that was because it was the only weapon they could find at their house. They grabbed some pipes, around five or six, and called towards Thana. "Grab some! They might be useful..."

Surprisingly, Thana found herself nodding to Jamie and she quickly bragged a handful of the knives she thought were most useful. She couldn't help but rummage around for a few other things. She stole-- err took-- a butter knife, fork and spoon, so she wouldn't have to eat with her hands, and shoved them in her pocket as far as they could go. She also found a bag of chips and some toilet paper and took them both thinking they were nice luxury items to have.

She hurriedly went outside, set everything in her backpack, and ran back to the basement grabbing as many pipes as she could. Thank god I have a truck, this stuff wouldn't fit easily in a car trunk she thought.

Caroline's bag was half empty, so she opened it and she dumped some canned foods in it. She also took three water-bottles from the fridge, and hurried outside. She looked ahead, and gasped. " Guys, parade of zombies is coming... LETS GO!"

"Ugh." hearing was one of the more refined senses of zombies, though smell still charted number one. Why could no one be quiet? Jamie dropped the tubes nearby the house and took out the pepper spray and slingshot, sitting silently and aiming towards the zombies eyes and mouth, just ways to slow them down.
They shook the pepper spray and waited for the zombies to get closer.

Caroline turned her foot, facing the zombies with her pipe in her left hand by her side. It was covered in dry, dark red zombie blood.She patted her skirt with her free hand, and pushed down on her bruises with the other. She sighed. " Why don't we just go instead of waiting for them?"

Thana had to agree with Caroline on this one. "Jamie, we shouldn't waste energy I can drive us out of here and too the tourist office lickety-split. It be much easier." She retorted backing slowly to her truck keeping her eyes on the large zombie horde approaching.

She sensed that Caroline still had her keys and just hoped that the girl would give them back. Thana loved that truck, it had been her sister's and she didn't ever wish to part with it. She slowly did an about-face and opened the truck's driver's seat door. "Come on, let's just go," she half-said half-commanded.

Caroline remembered the keys. She dug into her pocket, then threw them to Thana and jumped into the back-seat.

"Kay." Zombies weren't very good at breaking cars, so they guessed that this was, in fact, the best idea. They opened the passenger front seat and got on. The zombies would surely follow, but they would eventually probably go the wrong way or something.
"So, now that we're in a car. Let's talk. Why are you guys here. What are you looking for, or are you just fighting? Like, how'd you end up where you are now.." They smiled a bit, but they honestly still hadn't gotten over what Caroline had said. It was honestly ridiculously whiny, but they wouldn't tell her, of course.

" Well," Caroline started, sipping from her water bottle. " I was alone for about three days before I " found" you guys. My Mom, dad, little sister, little brother and grandparents were all killed by zombies while they were at the movie theatre. The only people left in my family are my aunt and little cousin, but I don't even know where they are."
